A small request, but something that helps with viewing collected data:

Columns in datagrids that automatically adjust width according to input string character length. Having to always adjust column widths, especially when there are many is no fun and especially in situations where little or no user interaction is encouraged. i.e. demonstrations, kiosks, non technical end user etc.

We have experimented with such a feature. The problem is the number of columns and the width of the viewer. When columns are auto sized on text a situation can occur that columns on the right can't be sized or will become very small. Also auto sizing when the grid is filling, will slow down the script big time.

Bottom line, we are still looking for a good solution.

It's a pity about the toll on performance. Perhaps you could create an option in an action that could extend the width of the column after it was filled, or when processor demand was minimal or when idle - reducing script slow down.
