I am using a "Get current Date-Time" and "Format Dat-Time" as ddd mmm d
on computers date is May 19 2010 when i run the script the variable returns 3/01/2010 as the get current date-time.

why? where is it getting this date from?

I get 'Wed May 19' as result.
Looks OK.
