it opens the web viewer, it highlights the appropriate from/to text,
the text viewer is opened with the proper "store variable name" as the title of the window..BUT

nothing gets copied to this window. In the lower pane(Variables&Sources) i do see "content" for this "store in variable..."

what gives?

If you see your content in the lower pane (variables and sources) it means your use this variable in a data grid action like set cell for example. A data grid can be saved to Excel with the Export to Excel action.

There are some simple and advanced web scraper examples, ETL, XML and other examples worth a study.

You will find the demo examples under the help menu in Djuggler.
Also note that each action has a link in the action properties to an action example. Such an example is focused on the action it self, how it works, best practice, etc.
